The story behind the design
The story of our Clothing Brush began with a simple frustration: endlessly removing pet hair from clothing. We decided to create a solution and developed a brush with millions of micro-bristles that work magnetically on fabric particles and hairs. But for us, it wasn't enough for it to be functional; it also had to be beautiful. On the market, we found only cheap plastic brushes in (in our opinion) ugly, bright colors. In line with our other products, we wanted our Clothing Brush to have a chic, Scandinavian minimalist design, with a matte-black finish and lightweight construction for optimal ease of use.
Materials
What we told the factory when producing our brush: "It must be a luxury brush, with a sturdy handle and a coating with a chic matte-rubber finish. A brush that is compact and not too heavy, yet sturdy and of very high quality. With the STEAMRS brush, you aren't bringing cheap plastic junk into your home, but a very chic accessory".
To make the brush sturdy and durable, we use recycled ABS material and recycled polyester. Designing and developing the bristles was a challenge. We wanted a material that was soft and gentle on all types of fabrics, but also strong enough to effectively remove hairs, lint, and pills. Ultimately, we created a unique system with thousands of micro-hairs that are gentle on fabrics while being incredibly effective at attracting and capturing unwanted hairs. The result is an ideal brush that is not only functional, but also a valuable addition to any interior and clothing collection.
The self-cleaning function
In addition to the functional design, we also wanted cleaning the brush to be effortless. This is where the smart design comes in: the inside of the brush's cover is lined with the same micro-hairs as the brush, but they face in the opposite direction. This creates a unique effect when you insert the used brush (with hairs and lint on it) into the cover and then pull it out again. All the hairs remain stuck to the inside of the cover and are collected in the small collection tray at the bottom of the brush.
